Dear Members:

As we enter May, we look forward to the slow recovery and reopening of our businesses!

During this COVID-19 pandemic, we learned how to cope with a new normal – 6’ social distancing, constant washing of our hands, self-care, and wearing face masks. Eventually, we will all be ready to open our businesses, based on the CDC guidelines, to help open our economy.

Our NAWBO National Institute has done a tremendous job in providing virtual learning and connections every week, and it is open to members and non-members at no cost. Please check out www.national@nawbo.org so you don’t miss out!

Locally, our NAWBO SV chapter started virtual hangouts called Thirsty Thursdays and webinars through Zoom, and these are provided for free as well through the end of June 2020. We had a great turnout for our April virtual events. We want to especially thank Roberta Kiphuth of Detati Digital Marketing for her professionalism and expertise on “Marketing in a New Age Using Video to Stay Relevant and Thrive” webinar. Having two events per month – one to engage and connect and the other to extract and learn from are important for us currently.

On May 7th, we will host Thirsty Thursday and have a featured guest, Kathy Winkelman of Gioia Company. She will share her love of Italy, whether it is the beautifully handcrafted wares or the exquisite regional wines, and how the Coronavirus impacted her friends and family. This is also your chance to network and share how your business will reset for your company’s reopening.

For our webinar on May 19th, we are excited to have Jill Wesley of Science + Soul of Speaking present “The Secrets of Being Clear, Memorable and Influential”. She’s been the “secret weapon” for leaders who present virtually and give keynotes at major industry conferences, so you’re sure to have some great takeaways like how to drive people to action or tell a powerful story.

We look forward to the continued virtual camaraderie of support, resources and knowledge throughout May and beyond. As this crisis evolves, we will plan accordingly for our future events and would love your input too.

Most importantly, we would like to become an empowered board or committee member for the new fiscal year starting July 1st. If interested, please send a message to info@nawbo-sv.org and we’d be happy to discuss this great opportunity. As we touch the lives of others, we enhance our own life.

As always, stay true to yourself and be the light that brings hope to your community and the world!

Warmest regards,
Flordelisa Harris
