We are always interested in having our members serve on our all-volunteer Board. You will gain valuable experience and insight into being part of as a non-profit Board, get to know your fellow NAWBO members, help build the organization and your business.
All Board positions are voluntary positions. The time commitment required varies for each position.

Join a Committee!
Don’t have enough time to be a Board Member, or would like to get exposure to committee work and the membership? Then committees are the ideal place to get started! Time requirements vary greatly and is generally flexible. Working on various committees can be great fun, as well as productive by building personal and business relationships.

Marketing/Media and Communications
Members of this committee support the Marketing Director in implementing the marketing and promotional initiatives of NAWBO. Some of the activities include: content and news item creation for press and the website, creation of content for CONNECTIONS, the NAWBO-SV e-newsletter, help promoting activities, outreach efforts to the community and membership, and other general marketing to support.
Corporate Partner Committee
The Corporate Partner Committee is focused on increasing the personal and financial participation of local corporations and community organizations with NAWBO-SV. Activities include: contacting corporations and organizations that can help support NAWBO-SV and it membership through a partnership opportunity, building long-term relationships with current Corporate Partners, and seeking out new Corporate Partners.

International Affairs
Members of this committee support the International Affairs Director in seeking opportunities to affiliate/partner with international organizations, submit articles regarding opportunities relating to business for each newsletter, and seek delegations visiting the area and inquire how NAWBO-Silicon Valley can participate.

Membership Committee
Working on the membership committee is the BEST way to get to know other members! On this committee you will get the opportunity to contact prospects about joining NAWBO, invite current members to events, talk with them about their needs and expectations from NAWBO and build relationships with other talented women.

Programs/Education Committee
The program/education committee plans and coordinates the monthly meetings and educational events. Our goal is to deliver high-quality programs that provide value to our members, partners, guest and the business community. Committee members plan and implement meetings and educational events, research topics, select and book potential speakers.

Public Policy Committee
Members of this committee assist in the development of issues that are important to our membership and then advocate on behalf of NAWBO-SV. We set up appointments for our members with the appropriate legislators, as well as send letters to legislators and some phone and email work. In addition to developing political influence, committee members have a great opportunity to get to know NAWBO members, what they do, and where their businesses are located. We have great support from both NAWBO-California and National.

Ambassadors
We are always looking for women who are friendly and outgoing to welcome our members and guests at monthly meetings throughout the year! Don’t worry if you cannot personally attend every single meeting, we like to have a pool of members to draw on. This is a fabulous opportunity to meet the maximum number of members, guests and Corporate Partners at every meeting—giving you great exposure for your business!
